Vaccine passports a ‘rather silly measure’, says David Davis

“Once you have got the population to above about 70 per cent vaccinated then you have got herd immunity. So, it is very difficult to see what they are trying to stop”

“A Covid certification scheme planned by the Government is a “rather silly measure,” Tory former cabinet minister David Davis has said.

[…] The Government has confirmed any scheme would be part of a wider pilot of a return to large-scale gatherings.

Rt Hon David Davis MP

Mr Davis questioned the need for certificates, on LBC radio: “It is really rather hard to see what the purpose of this test is. It is very different from anything we have done in Britain outside wartime. We are not used to presenting papers – or the electronic equivalent – to go to the pub or to go to a football match. That is not what we think of our freedoms.”

Continuing: “Once you have got the population to above about 70 per cent vaccinated then you have got herd immunity. So it is very difficult to see what they are trying to stop.

“The idea that we’d somehow stop (coronavirus) variants by this rather silly measure in Britain alone is nonsense.”

Liverpool City Council announced on Sunday they would not be taking part in the “certification scheme.”

Since then, other industries have raised concerns about costs and the unfeasibility of any test measures for travel.

Recent news highlighted how COVID test labs wouldn’t be able to follow the pace of testing. A BBC secret investigation uncovered the contamination risks of COVID tests due to chaotic processes and security issues  (here).

The Hot Water Club in Liverpool pulled out of a crucial COVID rapid testing trial after confusing government messaging. Many businesses follow this good sense.

The quality of PCR or Latteral tests has been known to be ‘rubbish’ for months, at least since December in our blog (“Mr Jason Leitch, Scotland’s national clinical director has admitted PCR tests used to detect Covid-19 are “a bit rubbish”. WHO confirms this.”).

1) Rt Hon David Davis MP Parliament page and blog

Mr Davis produced exhaustive documentation about the benefits of vitamin D (whether or not used for COVID).

The Health Secretary dismissed this in Parliament as insufficiently proven (even if over 80% of hospitalised patients have Vit D deficiency).

2) Experts send Vitamin D and Covid-19 open letter to world’s governments

21-Dec-2020 By Nikki Hancocks

“In an open letter being sent to world governments today (21st December), 120 health, science and medical experts from the UK, US, and Europe say there is clear scientific evidence that vitamin D reduces Covid-19 infections, hospitalisations, and deaths.”
