After my post earlier this week about news and researchers that published information on virus’s presence in wastewater, and its ability to get into homes through sewage pipes:
- over 65 US universities, including University of Virginia and Rochester Institute of Technology are testing wastewater (1), while Prof. Richard Larson from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Institute for Data System and Society plans the release of an AI algorithm to narrow such testing (2)
- a pilot project started in Israel (3)
- Canada goes further and bundles research to track COVID-19 outbreaks in wastewater with research on faster detection of food-borne illness (4)
